Here is an interesting question: Why do many mentally unwell people in the West, but especially in the Anglosphere, have the interesting combination of prominent tattoos, lots of piercings, artificial hair colors and obesity? And what is behind the association of these features and SJW ideology. Some of you might say that this sort of behavior is just the most current version of punk, goth and emo kids from previous decades? But it is not, for a very obvious reason. In previous generations, much milder versions of this type of physical embellishments were almost exclusively seen in teenagers. You almost never saw somebody with a real job try to pull this shit. Nowadays, you can find people who teach at schools and universities or in senior management positions adorn themselves in this manner. And it is almost exclusively females. What is going on?
But even more peculiar than the prominent tattoos, many piercings, very artificial hair colors and obesity is the association of this tetrad with mental illness- either real, self diagnosed or some sort of personality disorder. Why has a diagnosis of mental illness become fashionable among mediocre (or below) white women? How did we reach the point where being mentally ill or unwell became aspirational. Clearly, this cannot be the mark of any society with a bright future. And what is the point of looking uglier and cartoonish than one would otherwise look. Why have the rest of those societies decided that such behavior is a mark of something respectable, rather than something to be mocked. Has the average person in West lost so much touch with objective reality that they think this is healthy and normal?
What do you think? Comments?
At the moment I have a few quick thoughts. This should be short or not too long. I think as a society degrades or rots, people sink deeper into their delusions and other escapes from reality. The west, in particular the USA is as Chris Hedges calls it an Empire of Illusion (also the book name).
For far too long not enough people have called out bad and just plain perverse behaviors nor try to punish such things. If you accept one set of actions no matter how bizarre, why not accept others? So here we are now
What went wrong and/or changed? Too much to list and most of it interrelated. One change I think has to do with shame. Shame used to have meaning. It once to some extent reigned in some anti-social or really strange behaviors. So much has changed that shame and I imagine other things that might kept some of this in check no longer are useful. Then again shame worked when there were real communities and people lived in smaller groups.
None of this is helped by those folks and entities who exploit and profit off mental illness and these strange behaviors (both the actual mentally ill and those falsely labelled). Damn enablers.
Perhaps the country and the environment (societal, economic, political etc + the state of things) broke them or they were always broken. Regardless they are cracked and it is on full display and a source of pride it seems. Trapped in a death spiral of sorts with little to no hope of escape nor a better tomorrow coming they just embrace lunacy and/or degeneracy.
If everyone is insane than no one is insane right?
So unnaturally colored haired individuals who haven't discovered a way to reproduce all by themselves with no help from men and clearly have lost their marbles fit in quite well here in this clown show and again being a broken record this illusionary empire with its spectacles.
"People get to live in the societies they deserve" I think I quoted that correctly
And yes, some people probably do need to be on meds and for whatever reason are not taking them. That is a problem.
So, you’re going to have to tease these trends apart a bit.
The arrival of ADD and ADHD as recognized mental disorders in the DSM is concurrent with the appearance of Ritalin as a panacea. SSRIs having first blazed the trail of a pill-for-every-ailment for adults (read: middle-aged women), Ritalin and other drugs were now being applied to their school age kids starting at age 5-6.
The long-term effects of Ritalin use has never been adequately studied but there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence of permanent changes in brain chemistry and subsequent behavioral tics. We have a war on street drugs and a war on normal childhood energy, completely consistent with a Prussian educational system (not even practiced in Germany any more).
So, medicated kids turn into adults with deficiencies. Enter a degenerate subculture that got created as a result of the crack epidemic. You only have to look at the level of “self expression” in said subculture versus the majority/pluralistic culture and you can accurately gauge how much has been adopted by the majority culture.
Territory marking... I would separate easily reversed “expressions” from permanent ones. Hair color can be changed daily, wigs and hair extensions can be applied and removed, and even earrings can be added as clip-ons. Glitter and makeup can be applied and washed off. Ditto with butt plugs.
Piercings, although permanent, can be removed and the body will recover albeit with some sort of scarring, with nipple piercing being the most damaging (your NSFW site shows the blown-out nipple or horizontal scar as permanent unappealing reminder to a man of her YOLO days).
Breast implants ... well, they can be removed or enhanced with the results on a bell curve from revulsion to esthetically pleasing. Same with butt implants. Botox has to be reapplied constantly whereas face lifts are simply stalls.
So now we come to tattoos. Here I would split them into three categories: death stories (child, parent, loved one, idol), other pain (addiction, betrayal, achievement), and bat-shit-crazy. In tl;dr fashion: one, a few, or MANY tattoos. The placement of these tats is either invisible or visible, with facial, neck, and arm sleeves the most visible and in your face.
But tats can be removed one square inch at a time, but brandings are much harder to efface. One of the reasons why I still have a bit of optimism that the majority culture hasn’t been corrupted completely is the relative abhorrence towards brandings. The sex cult that branded women got the founder and “artist” eviscerated whereas a tattoo would have been shrugged off or quietly removed.
In short: look at what can never be removed and observe what else is being presented. I’m postulating that primal group allegiances are being displayed for the time that this group offers benefits to the bearer, and as soon as this is no longer the case, those markers are removed altogether or overwritten by a sign of allegiance by a group that’s offering more benefits. Body mutilation cults like the Ellen James’ in that robin williams movie that cut out their tongue will be microscopically small fringes in the present that overemphasizes the VISUAL and AUDITORY.
