Most of you might have heard that there was an attempt to assassinate Trump earlier today afternoon. Based on what we know thus far, he luckily escaped with a grazing bullet wound to his left ear. Those sitting behind him were not so lucky with at least one death plus one more (or two) in serious condition. While I am not going to write up a full post about this right now, many of the first articles about this event by MSM outlets was very (liberal) partisan and cringeworthy- more about that in a day or two. There is also the issue of how the Secret Service missed securing the very obvious spot from which the shooter (now deceased) fired upon Trump and the people behind him. Things could have been very different if Trump hadn’t turned his head a second or two before the shooting started, but the universe had other plans.
So now, we are left with some interesting contrasts between the two candidates. On one side we have Joe Biden, a man with obvious signs of dementia for at least the past 5 years. And no.. it is not his age. Joe Biden had obvious symptoms in public when he 75 or 76 years old, and now he is 81 and in much worse shape- as those who watched that infamous debate a couple of weeks ago remember. It does not help that his term has been associated with unusually high rates of inflation, lots of “social Justice” and “environmental” overreach in addition to a general feeling that some unelected people around Biden, rather than the person himself, are in charge. On the other side, you have Trump, whose popularity has been unaffected in spite of numerous attempts by Biden’s DOJ to convict him through numerous laughably bad court cases which are prosecuted by incompetent and corrupt DEI hires. The blame for this failed attempt to assassinate him will be almost certainly stick to the Democratic party and its rank and file of “leaders”. Given what happened today, on 13th July 2024, it is fair to say the rest of country is going to see Democrats as the real hand behind this failed assassination.
Trump is now almost certainly going to win the presidential election in November 2024. At this point, even replacing Biden with Michelle Obama or Oprah Winfrey is not going to change the balance. Democrats might as well abandon all hope for the presidency and concentrate on the House and Senate seats. Here too, their best hope (based on the current situation and trends) is to not get defeated too badly. Will write more about this topic in a day or two. Have a good weekend.
What do you think? Comments?
