Discussion: Rapidly Declining Living Standards in Western Countries

A few days ago, while searching for more information about rapidly increasing rates of homelessness in California, I came across a number of videos on YT about the ongoing rapid decline in living standards of people in UK. Curiously, they are all from either the government funded media or other “mainstream” news outlets. Here is a small selection of what I came across and if you watch more than a couple of them, you will see a very specific pattern about which groups are most affected.

Notice, that a lot of them are retired or otherwise unable to work full time.

Some could afford a very modest existence but can no longer do so due to inflation.

Working class accents are very highly represented.

Many have already suffered through previous cuts to their pensions and services due to the austerity policies of successive governments over past decade.

And even working class people with normal jobs are affected.

But don’t worry. Between constantly rising utility costs and inflation due to “green” policies, unlimited immigration, the austerity fetish and other dumb ideas such as unlimited support for the war in Ukraine, I am sure things will turn out right.
