Ever Had a Paranormal Experience?
Let me begin this post by saying that I have always taken a skeptical view about things that appear odd or too good to be true. Having said that, over the years I have known people and even had limited experience with things and occurrences that are just too hard to explain within the framework of established knowledge. To be clear, we aren’t talking about full body apparitions, UFO abductions or stuff that is really out there.
Let me give you two examples.
1] As some of you might already know, I have been involved in amateur astronomy since childhood. Over the course of many years, I have seen a few objects that were just really odd and hard to explain. We are not talking about flying saucers or aliens, but more mundane stuff such as satellite-like objects which changed direction far too quickly and abruptly to be anything based on existing technology. Let me clear about one more thing- I have spent thousands of hours looking at the sky through a variety of binoculars and telescopes. I know what things as diverse as high-altitude aircraft, stars, meteors and satellites etc look like under a variety of atmospheric conditions. I also know enough physics and engineering to say that currently available technology is not capable of making aircraft and spacecraft doing what I have seen a few times.
Moreover, I have seen such objects very infrequently- like a few times in many years of looking at the sky with binoculars and telescopes. Initially I dismissed them as some new secret technology, but when I look back at those experiences, it is hard to dismiss the possibility that they were of non-terrestrial origin.
2] I am also deeply skeptical of the idea of ghosts, spirits etc but there have been two instances when I did feel not being alone in an old house without any reason to feel that way. I later found out that other people who have visited the place in question at different times also felt something similar. There are theories that electro-magnetic fields from powerful electric equipment can give the sensation of an invisible presence around them- however the place in question had no such equipment. While one can dismiss individual experiences as borderline hallucinations, it is hard to ignore cases where people who have never previously discussed specific experiences having similar odd sensations of not being alone in a given place.
What do you think?
